Every new employee must complete 16 hours of new hire training before they can go to work in the field. Every employee must complete 8 hours of annual refresher training. Specific equipment and tool training must be completed before an employee can operate equipment for Three Way, Inc. This training is refreshed annually and is specific to each type and class of equipment used on job sites. New employees must wear an orange hard hat for 6 months so they can easily be identified on the job. Supervisors and Foremen are instructed and encouraged to seek out training opportunities for these new employees. During each Plan Of the Day (POD) meeting particular attention is paid to new employees so they thoroughly understand how to safely complete their portion of the job task or activity.
Every crew on each job site must complete a POD meeting before work may start. Each employee must acknowledge with their signature that they understand the POD before work will begin. The POD must be modified if previously unseen hazards emerge, new personnel join the crew already working or if a guest arrives at the work area.
