Storm Water Management

Uncontrolled erosion and sedimentation can cause adverse impacts on streams, drainage structures and the surrounding land. Managing storm water properly will mitigate the long and short-term effects of erosion.

Three Way, Inc. fully adheres to Best Management Practices (BMP’s) which are the physical, structural, and/or managerial practices that, when used singularly or in combination, prevent or reduce pollution of storm water. Using BMP’s lowers soil erosion and significantly reduces sedimentation.

Best Management Practices include:

- Berms and diversions
- Silt fence
- Wattles or hay bales
- Retention blankets
- Seeding
- Mulching
- Soil binders
- Check dams

Three Way’s Storm Water Management Division maintains effective controls that are checked at least every two weeks and within 24 hours after a heavy rain or snow fall. The controls are removed when they are no longer necessary, returning the land to its pristine condition.
