North Star Energy is seeking individuals for the Safety Department in Watford City, ND and Buffalo, WY. Safety Officer monitors workplace activities to ensure that workers comply with company policies and government safety regulations. This position reports to the Safety Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participates in the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive Environmental, Safety and Health program
• Lead by fostering and mentoring Behavior Based Safety processes
• Capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered as approved.
• Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. May receive technical guidance on unusual or highly complex problems through supervisor or other senior colleagues
• Provides technical guidance to management regarding health related problems such as the correct use of personal protective equipment and clothing, respiratory protection and accessories
• Maintains safety files and records. Completes all required form and paperwork
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required
• Other duties as assigned
Jobsite Safety Monitoring
• Will monitor safe work practice and compliance with all company, customer, policies and procedures.
• Will follow and insure the compliance of local, county, state and federal laws, regulations and best practices.
• Will attend, participate and assist Plan of the Day (POD) and Plan of the Task (POT) meetings when visiting job sites.
• Will conduct safety audits of company facilities, functions and job sites. Will also prepare report of findings and recommend corrective action.
Incident investigations
• Will perform complete investigations of all incidents, violations of policy, procedure, or safe practice.
• Will work closely with superintendents and supervisors to monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and safe practices.
• Will participate in completing Industry registries or questionnaires.
• All registries or questionnaires will be reviewed for update and accuracy.

OSHA compliance
• Compliance will be monitored daily
• Will receive training as needed.
• Will deliver training as needed
Drug Testing Administration
• Will insure that the drug and alcohol screening policy is strictly followed
• Prepare written reports of all activities

Requirements

Position Requirements:
• Four (4) years safety-related work experience.
• Two (2) years construction experience required
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 75lbs.
• Must be willing to travel out of town.
• Must have the ability to plan ahead and schedule
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Publisher
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions and be active for many hours, performing physical labor and lifting various objects.
• Strong Communication Skills Required

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of Field Safety Officer, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education

High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent (A.S. or B.S. degree in safety or an equivalent discipline, preferred)


Full Time Experienced Truck Driver-WY & ND

Hauling material, liquids, and heavy haul

MUST have experience hauling gravel or dirt with Belly Dump trailer or Side Dump trailer as well as heavy haul experience.

Class A CDL w/ tanker and double endorsements required, Hazmat a plus
Must have minimum of 3 yrs. experience hauling heavy equipment

Must Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.

Position Summary:
The Lead Estimator is responsible for the oversight of the estimating process for all projects bid and awarded. This position is based out of Buffalo, WY.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assigns responsibilities for estimating team on each projects
• Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope
• Compile proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents necessary to execute planned work at the direction of Estimating Manager
• Identify labor, equipment, material, and time requirements and compute costs to meet project goals
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information to project team
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Maintain system cost data and perform periodic updates based on market conditions
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications
• Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates
• Creates Job Folders
• Develop and maintain estimating procedures and guidelines under the direction of the Department Manager
• Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
• Traveling to attend on site pre-bid meetings and company meetings as required

Requirements

Position Requirements:
• Be proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating with particular emphasis on HCSS estimating software.
• Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Expertise in one or more areas of construction including Utilities and Oilfield
• Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to professionally communicate the basis for individual work product when in a highly stressed environment
• Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Must be willing to travel
• Must possess a strong work ethic
• Strong organizational, interpersonal skills
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
