Description

The Laborer position is responsible for supporting the construction operations with any needs they may have. The position is diverse and job duties may vary on a daily basis.
Laborers may be required to work in all types of inclement and/or extreme weather condition. North Star Energy is a well respected company and is looking for individuals that are willing to work harder and safer than the next. This position would be working with the Steel and Poly crews so experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on a variety of Construction projects
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in construction projects; Oil& Gas and Utility construction
• Shovel numerous products within the construction area.
• Fine grade fill to grades given by foreman.
• Excavate and fills trenches and ditches.
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Material handling and storage including the unloading and loading of material
• Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
• Perform poly fusing with hot plates
• Perform pressure testing

Requirements

Position Requirements:
• Must be 18 yrs. or older
• Safely work in a potentially hazardous environment
• Must be proficient with hand and power tools as well as heavy equipment
• Knowledge of fusion of poly and/or steel pipe experience a plus
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
• Be Safety-Minded
• Needs to know the importance of working as a team.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Must be willing to work weekends and long hours
• Must be willing to travel
• Bilingual a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
• Noise level is generally loud
• Must be able to quickly move arms and legs
• Excellent stamina is required

• Standard hours: 6am to 6pm but are dependent on weather and project deadline
• Must be flexible with schedule as some days will be longer than others
• Average work week 55-60 hrs.

Position Summary:
Experienced pipeline welder with multiple certifications with the ability to organize work and manpower.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Read prints for fabrication complete redline drawings and design tie ins and fabrication as needed.
• Works in concert with pipe men to achieve high production
• Keeps concise paperwork
• Possesses tools needed for job including pancake, pipe stands beveling machines up to 8”, roll out wheel, grinder, and torch with hoses
• Certified to project requirements including ASME B31.3; code API 1104 and API 1104 Severe.
• Must remain current with customer certifications and stay within repair and cutout limits set by company

Requirements

Position Requirements:
• Need to be able to weld on line in all positions and test both butt and branch.
• Completion of all safety training including Safeland USA, OSHA 10 or equivalent in addition to any applicable customer specific training.
• Can perform fabrication work and have general knowledge of welding procedures
• Possess the tools to perform duties
• Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of equipment and techniques
• Considerable knowledgeable of general work methods in welding
• Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of appropriate precautionary measures.
• Ability to maintain and make minor repairs in welding equipment, both gas and electric
• Ability to estimate temperatures by color of heated metals.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to do some blueprint reading.
• Ability to lay out welding work and to make simple estimates of material requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
Physical Requirements:

• Must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift weights up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
